FOX 11 Sports prep Expert Doug Ritchay goes 1-on-1 with Green Bay Southwest co-head coach Pat Wallace as the Trojans host Menasha in a Level 1 playoff game.
DR: Here with Green Bay Southwest co-coach Pat Wallace, his team hosting Menasha in a Level 1 game of the week. Pat, let’s talk about going into this game, you lost last week, does that loss mean anything going into tonight?
PW: We’re hoping it refocused our kids. Tonight is a new opportunity for our team. They know everyone is 0-0 and the winner moves on and the loser is done for the year.
DR: Menasha obviously isn’t a familiar opponent because they’re not in your conference. What stands out when you look at them?
PW: Speed, they got speed all over the field. They’re very talented and athletic so we know we’re going to have to match up and probably use our size to our advantage.
DR: Your program has made the runs in the postseason before, Level 3, Level 4 the last couple years. How much does that going into this postseason with this group?
PW: We’ve got some seniors that have been on the field both of those runs and we’re counting on them to take the rest of the guys and teach the intensity that’s necessary because when you get to the playoffs it’s whole new level of intensity you have to play with.
