BROWN COUNTY - From the morning drive to the evening commute home, Winter Storm Denise left a majority of Brown County roads snow covered.
"Oh, it's pretty bad right now," said Adrian Ramirez of Maribel.
"They are pretty bad but I've been driving really slow and I haven't had any issues with them," said Alia Zanon of De Pere.
Others weren't so lucky. On an unplowed Bellevue side street, a vehicle became stuck. But overall, Brown County Sheriff's officials say drivers played it safe on the roads.
"That's what we ask folks is to take your time, leave a lot of reactionary gap, for god's sakes leave your seat belt on, you can't be in a hurry in this type of weather, it'll cause problems," said Captain Randy Schultz of the Brown County Sheriff's Department.
Since 3 am, 42 Brown County trucks and 12 graders tried keeping up with Winter Storm Denise.
"The roads are passable, we still got a few trouble spots, but that's to be expected with those on the rural roads, a little bit of blowing and drifting," said Robert Bousley, the operations manager for Brown County Public Works.
Crews hope an end to the snow will help.
"The morning commute should be ok," said Bousley. "There might be some blowing and drifting isolated, but the main roads I would expect to be for the most part clear."
Just incase, drivers are advised to still take it slow and keep an increased following distance.
"It's not worth getting in an accident getting anywhere," said Zanon.
