KAUKAUNA - People in Kaukauna encouraged others to choose life Saturday during the 4th annual "Walk for Suicide Awareness."
The walk comes at an especially meaningful time.
Earlier this week, a student at Kaukauna high school took his own life.
It was the sixth student suicide in four years for the district.
Organizers say it's an issue they're hoping to shed light on.
"It is really have people engage and start talking about it, and how can we do better, and what can we do to prevent suicide," said Barb Bigalke, Exec. Dir., Center for Suicide Awareness.
The Center for Suicide Awareness in Kaukauna recently received a $10 thousand grant.
The money will be used to make an educational documentary about the warning signs of suicide.
