HOWARD - Some people in our area stepped up to an assembly line Tuesday to help those in need.
It's part of "Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack." This is the first time the program has been in the Green Bay area.
More than 1,300 volunteers, over the course of three days, will pack more than 270,000 meals at Green Bay Community Church in Howard. Those meals will be given to starving children in foreign countries.
Organizers say the food will go a long way.
"The amount of food that is going to be packed here between now and Thursday is enough food to feed 746 children, one meal a day for an entire year," said mobile pack supervisor, Nikki Larson.
The packing began Tuesday and continues through Thursday.

Single digit temps around the area caused problems in the Fox Valley Saturday morning.
The frigid temperatures forced some area communities to cancel their weekend Christmas celebrations. But New London braved the cold for its annual Holiday of Wonder Parade.
Maybe it's the weather. Maybe it's all of the injuries, but many Packers fans are saying "no thanks," to this weekend's Packers game.
With only a little snow on the ground in places, snowmobilers are ready for more. In the Lakewood area, trails are not yet open, but clubs are gearing up for an early start to the season.
