MARINETTE - The number of people arrested in a heroin investigation in the Marinette and Menominee, Mich., area is up to 15.
Officials say a task force made up of law enforcement officers from the two communities has been investigating for four months.
The arrests began in May, when officers arrested two Menominee men, ages 40 and 48; a 42-year-old Marinette woman; a 38-year-old Oconto County man and a 38-year-old Waukegan, Ill., man on various heroin-related charges.
Then, in July, officers arrested four Marinette women, ages 23, 24, 39 and 51; and three Marinette men, ages 24, 44 and 48, on heroin-related charges.
Finally, earlier this month, officers arrested two Menominee men, ages 29 and 38; and a 23-year-old Menominee woman on heroin-related charges.
Authorities did not release the names of those arrested.
Anyone with information on drug crimes in the area is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-427-5857, or submit tips online or by text-messaging “Marinette” with the tip to 274637.
