GREEN BAY - The Packers released quarterback Vince Young, running back Alex Green, tight ends Matthew Mulligan, Jake Stoneburner, and D.J. Williams, fullback Jonathan Amosa, offensive tackles Andrew Datko and Kevin Hughes, centers Patrick Lewis and Garth Gerhart, along with wide receivers Charles Johnson, Tyrone Walker, and Myles White.
Defensively they parted ways with linebackers Dezman Moses, Terrell Manning, and Donte Savage, safeties David Fulton and Chaz Powell, cornerbacks Loyce Means, James Nixon, and Brandon Smith and defensive tackle Jordan Miller.
Vince Young had been the presumed backup to Aaron Rodgers, following Graham Harrell's release. The move leaves B.J. Coleman as the lone quarterback other than Rodgers on the roster.
They also have cut 2012 leading rusher Alex Green and tight end D.J. Williams. Williams took to social media to make his exit from Green Bay known saying, "We'll pack nation. Thanks for all the support and good memories. There's no place like lambeau field. Wish all the best ."
After the waiver claims period, the Packers will assemble their practice squad roster which can have as many as 8 players on it.
